Ercle we approached by Bunnyhomes in 2015 to help them realise their first development. From the first meeting there was a synergy between client and architect. Both wanted to create high quality well designed homes. The homes would be bigger than minimum space standards and would include the extras that shouldn't be extras. Over the first three months of engagement Ercle tested a number of sites for Bunnyhomes but none of them were qute right for the clients first development.
In August 2016 Ercle proposed the former Tracey Vale care home in Bovey Tracey. The site which is just under 0.6 of a hectare was ideally suited for a small but perfectly formed development. Over the following months the site was tested and multiple options were explored. Everything from converting the existing care home to creating a new block of apartements. In the end the client decided on developing 10 high end dwellings - a mixture of 2 and 3 bedroom bungalows as well as a number of semi-detached dwellings.
Bunnyhomes were unique as client and were keen to get it right rather than just getting the application submitted and planning was submitted winter 2016. The application was approved under delegated powers and work began on site in August 2017.
Buttercup Meadows is near now near completion with a show home opening in April 2018 and with all the homes completed by the and of the summer. This is a stunning development of well considered homes. We are excited to be working with Bunnyhomes on two other sites in Teignbridge.
