In 2018 Ercle won under competitive bid the opportunity to design and deliver a prestigious scheme of 90 passivhaus dwellings as well as ground floor commercial space and associated landscaped courtyard. The scheme once complete will be one of the largest passivhaus schemes in the UK.
The proposal seeks to develop the built form around a central courtyard space that will be open to residents as well as the local community. The central space and the surrounding interaction with the streets is being designed to the 8/80 urban design principles. Mainly, that if we design our urban spaces such that they suit an 8-year-old as well as an 80-year-old then they will be appropriate for everyone in between. The will result in an inclusive urban realm that meets the needs of our diverse society.
We are very excited about this innovative project and are expecting to submit a planning application in December 2018.
