Ercle were approached in 2017 by the client who had recently been refused planning for a dwelling in their back garden. The proposed dwelling is in the heart of the South Hams and in Area of Oustanding Natural Beauty and is outside development limits. We have worked carefully to overcome the reasons for refusal set out for the initial proposal by another architect and are in the process of gaining planning permission.

The new dwelling seeks to sit into the hillside and have no visual impact on the surrounding area. It proposes a landscape scheme that improves the ecological setting of the dwelling and which provides habitat for local animal species. The dwelling will also seek to employ renewable energy technologies.
